基本的目標｜Primary Goals of the University国立大学法人筑波技術大学（以下「筑波技術大学」という。）は、聴覚・視覚障害者のための高等教育機関として、今日の知識基盤社会に対応するため、個々の学生の障害特性に配慮した教育を通じて、幅広い教養と専門的、応用的能力をもつ専門職業人を養成し、両障害者が社会的自立を果たし、自ら障害を持つリーダーとして社会貢献できる人材の育成を図るとともに、新しい教育方法の研究と実践を通して国内外の障害者教育の発展に資することを基本的な目標とする。この基本的な目標を踏まえ、高等教育の内容に関わる各専門分野の研究の推進を図るとともに、最新の科学技術を利用して聴覚・視覚の障害を補償する教育方法やシステム等を開発し、情報授受のバリアのない教育環境の構築に努める。また、聴覚・視覚障害学生を受け入れている他大学等に対する支援、聴覚・視覚特別支援学校との高大連携、留学生支援を含めた海外の高等教育機関との障害者に係る教育研究に関する国際交流活動等を推進する。さらに、東洋医学と西洋医学を統合した教育研究を推進するとともに、特色ある医療活動を通じて地域医療に貢献する。筑波技術大学は、これらの目標をより高いレベルで達成していくために、大学院の充実を図ると共に、理療科教員養成課程等の設置を視野に教育研究の充実を図る。5基本的目標The National University Corporation TsukubaUniversity of Technology (NTUT) is the only institute forhigher education in Japan for the hearing and visuallyimpaired. Our educational policy considers thedisabilities and personalities of individual students. Wehave the following primary goals:1. We want our students to be professionals with a highdegree of sophistication as well as solid vocationalskills.2. We want our students to be socio-economicallyindependent individuals who can contribute to socialdevelopment as leaders of the disabled.3. We will develop new methodologies of education forsensory disabled people and contribute to theimprovement of their educational environment inJapan and the rest of the world.To fulfill these goals, we promote research on curriculaand methods applicable for disabled students in highereducational institutions. Furthermore, we pursue researchin each field related to hearing and visual impairmentsand strive to develop new systems and devices ofassistive technology that would create a barrier-freeeducational environment.We also give assistance to other universities andcolleges that accept students with hearing and visualimpairments, promote high school?university cooperationwith special needs education schools for students withhearing and visual impairments, and internationalexchange activities concerning the education and researchfor disabled students together with higher educationinstitutes overseas, including support for foreign students.We further promote research and education that combineEastern and Western medicine as well as contribute to thehealth of local people through our particular medicalservices.To achieve these goals on a higher level, NTUT willpromote its graduate school as well as research andeducation with a view to the establishment of the coursefor Acupuncture and Physical Therapy Teacher Training.筑波技術大学概要2015―2016
